Matt and Caitlin are the classic – Boy meets Girl. Boy likes Girl, Girl likes Boy. The complicating factor is that they lived over 1,500 miles away from each other.
Caitlin and Matt maintained a long-distance relationship between Los Angeles and Calgary for several years. They juggled this distance while maintaining busy careers as a lawyer (Caitlin) and finance professional (Matt). They estimate they have taken well over 140 flights to spend time together. Beyond visiting their respective cities, they often visited Palm Springs, Oregon, and Vancouver together.
Caitlin finally made the move from Los Angeles to Calgary to join Matt. The two made the three day drive together stopping in Portland, OR and Spokane, WA. Caitlin was warmly welcomed to Calgary with an early September snowfall!
The couple were looking for a wedding destination that would offer a reprieve from the cold! Palm Springs ended up being the perfect destination, easy for their guests to get to and plenty of sun. They wanted a destination wedding from the get go, a perfect opportunity to plan a weekend of festivities with their closest friends and family from destinations all over the world.
The Blooming Gypsy channeled this bride’s California cool vibe with a perfect blend of timeless elegance. Inspired by the The Avalon Hotel’s lush lawns, green foliage was the starting point with pops of white florals throughout. Chard Photo was there to capture every magical moment that left us speechless.
