Carolyn_Jeff01Carolyn and Jeff married of a sunny May afternoon at The Ace Hotel in Palm Springs. Carolyn walked down the aisle of rustic woven rugs leading to a birch Huppah covered with a Talit, passed down from generations.
Cocktails were served on the clubhouse terrace with entertainment by a live acoustic band. Guests then moved to the commune for dinner and late night dancing. DJ Daisy O’Dell got the crowd pumped for the traditional Horah dance. It was such a fun party, by the end of the night the bride was in the pool!

Liz_Josh26Liz and Josh are a fun happy couple that really wanted to create an interesting and unique wedding with fun experiential elements at the beautiful Vintage Country Club in Indian Wells.  Although one of the more traditional private clubs in the Palm Springs Area, the team at the Vintage were excited and happy to embrace the creative elements that were added to the couples’ special day.

After a non-traditional ceremony that included all 250 guests forming a large circle around the couple, a Dixie Land Band and Stilt walkers led the guests from the ceremony to cocktails. A magician and characteristic entertained guests at cocktails and as they sat for dinner, a cigar roller kept the non-dancers happy later in the night, and an In & Out Truck provided a late night snack. Interspersed though all of this were more traditional wedding element – fabulous flowers, heartfelt toasts, cutting the cake and dancing to an amazing band.  The day was flawless, creative and fun – everything the couple wanted!  Liz_Josh01Liz_Josh02Liz_Josh03Liz_Josh04Liz_Josh05Liz_Josh06Liz_Josh07Liz_Josh08Liz_Josh09Liz_Josh10Liz_Josh11Liz_Josh12Liz_Josh13Liz_Josh14Liz_Josh15Liz_Josh16Liz_Josh17Liz_Josh19Liz_Josh20Liz_Josh21Liz_Josh22Liz_Josh23Liz_Josh24Liz_Josh25Liz_Josh26Liz_Josh27Liz_Josh28Liz_Josh29Liz_Josh30Liz_Josh31Liz_Josh32Liz_Josh33Liz_Josh34Liz_Josh35Liz_Josh36Liz_Josh37Liz_Josh38Liz_Josh39Liz_Josh40Liz_Josh41

Jennifer_Larry14When the client tells you they want to do NOTHING traditional- I usually think “heard that before – won’t really happen”, but in Larry & Jennifer’s case they really meant it and their inspired ideas helped create one of the most entertaining weddings we have produced!

After a short fun exchange of vows, the ceremony trio started playing their exit song “I Feel Good” and after a few bars, the main band picked up the same tune and welcomed guests to the event lawn for for a night of dancing,  dining and cocktails.  The space was set with an assortment of AFR Lounge furniture, long tables with stools, low and tall cocktail tables and there were no assigned seats.  An organic backdrop of bistro and twinkle lights surrounded the band and guests were invited to dance and enjoy cocktails before gathering around the dance floor for a few bandy and fun toasts.

The beautiful private Hideaway Country Club allowed Larry & Jennifer to bring in food trucks to feed their guests and after an hour of cocktails the food trucks opened for the rest of the night.  Guests grabbed a bite whenever they wanted throughout the night and no one could agree if the Sushi Burrito Taco’s, the Original Tommy Burgers or the Cosmic Foodie Grilled Cheese Sandwiches were the best!

Blair_Murphy40This wedding is one for the history books! Murphy, a Bronze Medalist in US Men’s Volleyball and his bride, Blair, married at The La Quinta Resort surrounded by their loved ones. The welcome party was a bright and colorful mexican fiesta held at The hotel’s main pool. Guest feasted on an array of mexican cuisine with entertainment by The Sinatra Band.

The wedding day was full of classic elegance. The bride walked down the asile to “Here Comes the Sun” by George Harrison.  Guest dinned under a canopy of shimmering string lights by Perfect Touch Inc Lighting. The 9 piece band by Jordan Entertinment rocked the stage on into the late night after party.  The grooms cake repersenting Murphy’s Olympic Wins by Exquisite Desserts was the hit of the evening.

0174From the bride, Margo:

Zack and I both grew up in LA and had so many mutual friends growing up but we didn’t actually meet until two years after college, when we both moved back to LA.  A mutual friend brought Zack to my best friend’s birthday party, we saw each other the next night out at a bar, and then were pretty much inseparable after that!

Zack and I always loved the idea of a destination wedding; bringing our family and friends together for a weekend long celebration.  I didn’t want it to be over in just one night!  We love Palm Springs, we have so many amazing memories there and associate it with some of the best times with the best friends. Since most of our friends and family are in LA, it was an easy destination that wouldn’t require them to fly, and those that were flying would need to anyway if we had the wedding in LA.  So when it came to choosing the destination, it was an easy decision!

We visited all sorts of hotels and estates in Palm Springs, and the Avalon Hotel fit. We loved how we could dance outside, and there was also a place where we could party inside after the 10pm music curfew kicked in.  The Avalon also allowed us to buyout the whole hotel such that each hotel guest would be a wedding guest.  We loved the idea of our guests walking outside of their rooms and mingling with other guests, and everyone hanging at the pool together during the day.  We ended up having a pool party on Friday afternoon, rehearsal dinner on Friday night, and wedding Saturday evening which all of the guests were invited to and attended.  Our dream of making a true weekend out of the wedding absolutely came true.

Zack and I travelled to Italy for two weeks the summer before the wedding. That trip totally inspired the Italian garden theme.  For the flowers, I wanted pinks, purples, blues, white, all mixed with a ton of green.  Since the ceremony and rest of the party would all be after sundown, we wanted candles everywhere.  We used the same Italian garden theme on our save the dates, invitations, and signage at the wedding weekend itself.   We tried to keep the romantic Italian garden feel throughout by including a canopy of lights, and multiple structures with florals hanging off.  We also had a flower wall with the same floral theme continued!  The rehearsal dinner set the tone where we had so many flowers on the table that the food had to be passed around!  We also included marble table numbers that I was absolutely obsessed with, and name cards in the form of tags attached to everyone’s wine glasses.  We continued the marble aesthetic at the wedding with marble signs for all of the hors’douvres and appetizer stations. It was all so beautiful.

COJ recommended ideas, vendors and made it all happen.  They told us what would work well and what wouldn’t, and helped us craft the perfect weekend.  Most importantly, the execution that COJ accomplished the weekend of the wedding was impeccable.

My favorite part of the wedding day was standing under the chuppah during the ceremony, I looked out and saw all of our friends and family watching us.  I took it all in, and that set the tone for the rest of the night.  I just wanted to enjoy myself, enjoy the night with Zack, and take it all in.
