0174From the bride, Margo:

Zack and I both grew up in LA and had so many mutual friends growing up but we didn’t actually meet until two years after college, when we both moved back to LA.  A mutual friend brought Zack to my best friend’s birthday party, we saw each other the next night out at a bar, and then were pretty much inseparable after that!

Zack and I always loved the idea of a destination wedding; bringing our family and friends together for a weekend long celebration.  I didn’t want it to be over in just one night!  We love Palm Springs, we have so many amazing memories there and associate it with some of the best times with the best friends. Since most of our friends and family are in LA, it was an easy destination that wouldn’t require them to fly, and those that were flying would need to anyway if we had the wedding in LA.  So when it came to choosing the destination, it was an easy decision!

We visited all sorts of hotels and estates in Palm Springs, and the Avalon Hotel fit. We loved how we could dance outside, and there was also a place where we could party inside after the 10pm music curfew kicked in.  The Avalon also allowed us to buyout the whole hotel such that each hotel guest would be a wedding guest.  We loved the idea of our guests walking outside of their rooms and mingling with other guests, and everyone hanging at the pool together during the day.  We ended up having a pool party on Friday afternoon, rehearsal dinner on Friday night, and wedding Saturday evening which all of the guests were invited to and attended.  Our dream of making a true weekend out of the wedding absolutely came true.

Zack and I travelled to Italy for two weeks the summer before the wedding. That trip totally inspired the Italian garden theme.  For the flowers, I wanted pinks, purples, blues, white, all mixed with a ton of green.  Since the ceremony and rest of the party would all be after sundown, we wanted candles everywhere.  We used the same Italian garden theme on our save the dates, invitations, and signage at the wedding weekend itself.   We tried to keep the romantic Italian garden feel throughout by including a canopy of lights, and multiple structures with florals hanging off.  We also had a flower wall with the same floral theme continued!  The rehearsal dinner set the tone where we had so many flowers on the table that the food had to be passed around!  We also included marble table numbers that I was absolutely obsessed with, and name cards in the form of tags attached to everyone’s wine glasses.  We continued the marble aesthetic at the wedding with marble signs for all of the hors’douvres and appetizer stations. It was all so beautiful.

COJ recommended ideas, vendors and made it all happen.  They told us what would work well and what wouldn’t, and helped us craft the perfect weekend.  Most importantly, the execution that COJ accomplished the weekend of the wedding was impeccable.

My favorite part of the wedding day was standing under the chuppah during the ceremony, I looked out and saw all of our friends and family watching us.  I took it all in, and that set the tone for the rest of the night.  I just wanted to enjoy myself, enjoy the night with Zack, and take it all in.

Matt & Doug’s wedding was filled with so much love it just bounces off the screen in this video short of their wedding day! We had so much fun with them on every detail but the most important part of the day is the wonderful love they share.  Enjoy!

Corey and Edan had the vision of an elegant, intimate and modern wedding at her parents desert estate for only 60 guests.  The home had a very hip decor style, filled with contemporary furniture and fabulous contemporary art, and became the back drop for this very high style wedding.

A modern, elegant huppah was installed over the patio fire pit by the pool, and was the focus of their beautiful ceremony overlooking the golf course! While guests celebrated a first cocktail with the bride and groom inside the home, we flipped the back yard, removed the huppah and created a transformed dining and dancing space.

Utilizing the existing patio cabanas, we hung modern copper globes sourced by our fabulous florist Arrangements to highlight the glossy white tables and ghost chairs. Modern arrangements with orchids, globes and lucite pillars duplicated the floral concept in the home and helped reflect the glow of the candles.

Our band, The Replicas, transitioned from romantic ceremony music, to a jassy cocktail vibe and finally to modern dance tunes as the guests dined and danced the night away!

We choose The Parker Palm Springs for it’s funky, chic, and elegant vibe. It embodies all of the things we love: fun cocktails, outdoor settings, uniqueness, amazing design, and beautiful sunny palm trees everywhere.

For the look and style of the wedding I wanted a lot of black / gold and modern elements. I knew we needed an amazing pop of color and decided on hot pink. We incorporated palms as centerpieces and table runners as a nod to the beautiful setting and to add some greenery. I pinned a lot of unique flowers and arrangements. After meeting and talking to our amazing florist Luna she really understood my vision and helped it come together! Cathy and Dorry of COJ Events had great ideas and it was ultimately a team effort bringing the initial vision together.

Haley of COJ Events created big signs at each venue (ceremony, reception and cocktail) named after favorite bands and songs. For example, the ceremony was The Doors- Hello I love You. Each table at the wedding was also named after one of our favorite artists!  We sat at The Prince Table.

Its not every year that we get to welcome in the New Year with a wedding, but we were blessed last year with the opportunity to create a stylish bash for a delightful Seattle couple!  Tracy & Kyle had a clear vision of the type of elegant event they wanted to celebrate their wedding day and we had fun making it happen!

We brought together black and gold elements including luminous decor from Maggie Jensen, a stunning black and gold shimmering linen for the head table from La Tavola and lighting from the Perfect Touch! Escort cards were hung on New Years eve blowers, the photo booth props were all black and gold and glitter, and the New Year was welcomed not only with a champagne toast but with a massive balloon drop!

Meg & Sean came to us with the idea to have an elegant yet relaxed and fun party/wedding – minus the formality of a sit down dinner.  We were all in!! The Parker Palm Springs was the perfect setting for the festivities, and after a beautiful sunset ceremony the guests were escorted to the traditional cocktail hour under an edgy modern lighting canopy.

The doors opened to the ballroom to reveal a cool lounge vibe ready for a dance party! A combination of sofas, low tables, cocktail rounds and bar tables allowed for mingling & feasting on the variety of food stations set up in the back.  Fabulous decor and rentals from Arrangements and AFR were illuminated by a lighting back from Arrangements.  Guests danced all night long to the hot sounds of the band Into the Night from City Connection.

Sparkle. Simplicity. Elegance. Liz and Jeff’s black-tie affair was a day of love, laughter, and lots of happy tears. Both knew Palm Springs was the perfect place to show their love with their close friends and family.

The floral style was executed beautifully by local Joshua Tree florist, Blooming Gypsy. Veronica captured the sleek simplicity of Liz’s vision and used soft white roses, an abundance of greenery, and a variety of candles to create the reception look.
